The inclined series appeared as a result of a letter sent to the Director of the Post, by then inspector of the treasury of Sergipe, who complained about the ease of reusing the stamps already used, that is, the Bull's Eyes, thus causing a decrease in public income.
The Director General of the Postal Service arranged for the stamps to be printed in a smaller format, on much thinner paper and with such a glue that it would be very difficult to completely tear them off.
Thus, the "Inclinados" were born.
The forgeries are plentiful and as many as 20 varieties have been discovered.
