Mexico - 1856 Issues

 August 1 1856. Engraved. 
All values in sheets of 60 (6 x 10), 
Imperforate.
Papers: white, hard wove (thickness varies somewhat, only slightly porous),
Usually issued with district name handstamped.
The district names affect the catalog value
1861 issues are notable by being on colored paper.

Reprints
Fraudulent reprints from original plates of the 4 and 8 reales are common, while those of the other values are seldom encountered. 
They are almost invariably on thicker, more opaque paper and the shades are usually different. Expertization is recommended.

This forgery has the wrong label "CORREOS MEJIOS"

3rd Forgery
Distinct double ring oval
Different corner elements

5th Forgery
Attributed to Engelhardt Fohl
Very different top & bottom labels

6th Forgery
The bottom ornaments are different from the genuine stamp. 
The inscription reads wrongly "CORREOS MEDICO". 
The upper label is too straight. 

7th Forgery
Probably a Spiro forgery

These are by far the most plentiful. They appear to come from 2 forgers
