There is no evidence that this was an actual mall service.
The bogus stamps were advertised and sold by S. Allan Taylor
The original design may however be by Joseph. J. Casey.
Type 1
- Probably from Casey- Long right foot extension on the R
- Common blotch above the arrowhead and dash over feathers
- Bend in outside right frame line
- The top arm of the top E is short
- The P in PENNY has a short top loop
Type 2
- This is the first of the Taylor bogus and it does not appear to be common- The right outside frame line is normal
- The top E is normal
- There is no tail on the R
Type 3
- The R has a long curl o the right foot
Type 4
Type 4
- It appears to be a worn die of the Type 3
- The first N in PENNY is always broken
